Megan Hoffman Counseling, PLLC Cost for Services

Intake Session - $135

An intake session allows the therapist to collect background information to best understand your presenting concerns and how the therapist can best be of support in services. Because intake sessions require processing of more paperwork and therefore structured differently from a standard session, the fee is set for $135.

Standard (45-60 minutes) Session - $125

A standard session includes child, adolescent, adult, and parent consultation sessions. The length of session can vary depending on several factors. Most sessions (except for play therapy) are about 50 minutes. Play therapy sessions are typically 45 minutes to both meet the developmental needs of the child, and to allow for therapist to have plenty of time to clean up.

Extended Sessions (beyond 60 minutes)

Extended sessions are typically based on a case-by-case basis. Should a session go beyond 60 minutes, such as in the case of a short-term crisis or previously requested by the client with the therapist agreement, additional charges will be applied in 15 minute increments at rate of $31.25.

*Megan Hoffman Counseling, PLLC is not specifically a crisis clinic. If you are experiencing an emergency, contact your local emergency line or 911 or 988 or go to your nearest emergency room.

Additional Services

While the above services and fees listed above are the most common. Additional services rendered, such as court appearances are outlined in the practice’s financial agreement. The therapist will send you the agreement through the secure client portal and be reviewed with you prior to beginning services.

Good Faith Estimate

Effective January 1, 2021, the No Surprises Act requires out-of-network providers to provide those not using or do not have insurance with an estimate for services. This estimate is not a recommendation for care, but rather what you could expect to pay for certain services. A Good Faith Estimate does not include unexpected costs, such as legal fees, or other potential additional services.

As Megan Hoffman Counseling, PLLC is out-of-network with all insurance policies, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy. For more information on the cost of services at Megan Hoffman Counseling, PLLC, please see cost page on this website. You can request a Good Faith Estimate before scheduling services or at any time during services rendered.

If the provider raises her rates, a new Good Faith Estimate will be provided to reflect the new estimated cost for services. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
